A case study showing how a leading financial institution enabled secure, internet-facing infrastructure for its Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) workloads while reducing dependency on its on-premises environment, combining Infoblox DNS security, F5 load balancing and Advanced WAF, and Fortinet virtual firewalls into a single, centrally governed cloud security foundation.
Reducing Dependency on On-Premises Access
The institution needed to enable secure internet access for servers hosted on OCI without relying on its on-premises environment, while keeping the two fully integrated. It also needed to move away from native Oracle load-balancer and firewall configurations toward dedicated, enterprise-grade security and application delivery platforms, with clear documentation and knowledge transfer for its own team.
Four Integrated Security Workstreams
Innovative Solutions built the foundation around four workstreams: Infoblox DNS and DNS security, F5 load balancing with Advanced Web Application Firewall, Fortinet virtual firewalls, and a structured migration of security roles and policies from Oracle's native services. Each layer was deployed across both production and non-production OCI zones, with full testing and validation before handover.
