Modernizing Enterprise Network Security and Connectivity with Fortinet Secure SD-WAN
Network Security Case Study
A case study showing how a leading aerospace engineering organization modernized its network security and connectivity across headquarters, data centers, airport facilities, and more than 20 remote sites, using a centrally managed Fortinet Secure SD-WAN architecture to improve security governance, visibility, and operational resilience.
Securing a Widely Distributed Aerospace Network
The organization operated across headquarters, data centers, airport facilities, regional locations, and more than 20 remote branches connected over Internet, MPLS, and LTE links. Security tools and administration were spread across sites, making it difficult to manage security consistently, maintain full visibility, or support future growth without a centralized, scalable foundation.
A Centrally Managed Fortinet Secure SD-WAN Architecture
Fortinet Secure SD-WAN was deployed using FortiGate next-generation firewalls, FortiManager for centralized policy management, and FortiAnalyzer for logging and analytics, alongside FortiSwitch branch infrastructure and cloud firewalls hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Secure overlay networks tied every branch back to the core environment, with high availability built in at key locations.
